Mt. Arayat for Dessert

Mt. Arayat is no longer just the name of a mountain. It is now also the name of a special halo- halo.
Halo-halo for Filipinos is a well-known dessert combining kaong (sweet palm fruit), macapuno (silky coconut), langka (jackfruit), munggo(mung beans), saba (banana-like plantain), ube (purple yam), mais (corn), nata de coco (coconut gelatin), pinipig (dried rice, pounded) and sago (pearls similar to boba), shaved ice, leche flan and showered with evaporated milk. Then you make "halo-halo" or mix the ingredients to combine and enjoy the flavors. I do not know the exact reason why the halo-halo was named after the Mt.  It is safe to assume that both came from the same location, San Fernando, Pampanga.

We  saw the modest store along with other food stalls at the SM Mall of Asia.
What is so special about this halo-halo? It only has a few ingredients compared to the traditional Filipino halo-halo (I can somehow compare it to the Razon's halo-halo). The taste is not too sweet but not too bland, perfect for the hot sunny weather.
For just Php 70.00 you get to taste an unconventional halo-halo. It's worth a try.
