A Taste of Greece.. Manos Greek Tavern Restaurant (SM MOA)

Looking for a place to eat on the night before a non-working holiday, we found ourselves listening to a foreigner holding a flyer and discussing the meals on his restaurants' menu. He mentioned that the  restaurant has a branch in Tagaytay and that it serves authentic Greek cuisine. The words "Authentic" and "Greek" enticed us. We just had to try the meals for ourselves.

EXTERIOR/ INTERIORS

The interiors had a warm and clean feel to it. The walls were all in white and were bombarded with paintings/pictures of famous landmarks in Greece. There was also a television set showing a preview of Greek tourist spots while Greek music was playing on.

FOOD
Since we were on a budget and we wanted to try as much food on their menu as we can, we tried the Combo Meals worth Php 260.00 each.

The restaurant serves this set of small pita slices with Greek Humus dip as an appetizer for guests to enjoy  (full meal cost for Greek Humus Dip = Php160, full meal Pita cost = Php70.00).
I loved the dip, it tasted kinda sour but it complemented the pita bread very well.

Chose this as my meal. Combo #1. It's a combination of: Mousaka, Cabbage Roll, Spanakopita, Salad and Bottomless Iced tea.

Cabbage roll - is made out of minced beef, parsley, rice and greek herbs. I did not like this dish very much. It tasted something like an overcooked cabbage in nilagang baka (Filipino beef stew) with hints of patis (fish sauce).

Mousaka - is made out of layered zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes and minced beef in bechamel sauce and parmessan cheese. Yummy. I loved the cheese and the overall taste from the combination of the ingredients.

Spanakopita (the long rectangle shaped dish)- is made out of spinach pie, feta cheese, onion leaves, fillo pastry. I liked this dish as well. Being a vegetable lover, I was able to really taste the fresh and distinct flavors of the spinach leaves.

Overall, this meal is a 4 out of 5. A must try for veggie lovers.

This is what Papa P. ordered, Combo meal #4. A combination of Shawarma, Dolmades, Beef with Beans, Salad or feta cheese and Bottomless Iced tea.

Gyros Pita/ Shawarma (pork) - a combination of pita bread, tzatziki dip, potatoes, tomatoes and pork.
Their shawarma did not taste distinct at all (just like the shawarma's in other restaurants but not comparable to those sold at food stalls) but I was satisfied with its taste.

Dolmades - a combi of grape leaves, parsley, rice and greek herbs. The outer part of this dish was hard but the overall taste was nice.

Beef with Beans - the beef was so tender one bite was all it took to cut a piece.

*The salads from both meals had crispy and fresh lettuce leaves, onions and feta cheese (cheese that stinks but tastes good).

How to get there:
From the north - take a baclaran or MOA bus that passes by Edsa.
From the south - take a baclaran bus, then ride an orange jeepney to MOA.
