Mars is coming

Just recently, I read a post from the 30 Seconds to Mars Filipino facebook fan page. It read: "#marsiscoming. I got all excited and like an automatic reflex reaction, I clicked on the "like" button. Were they coming back to the Philippines? Not sure, but the post sure meant something was up. 

And up it was.... 

Apparently, their new single, "Up in the Air" was going to be released and I heard the song first hand from the MTV website.

The start of the song had a little disco fiasco theme to it but when you get to the latter parts of the song, you'll realize that the band's distinct sound is still there: 
slow-melodrama-drummer-boy uphill singing 
+ Jared's climatic singing/shouting to signify the turning point of the song 
+ crowd singing in the background. 

 The song strikes me as something about a love-hate relationship where both parties know it has to end but they have already invested so much of themselves in each other that they find themselves too weak to let go..
