Baking 101

With all the new tv shows about baking, such as Cupcake Wars, Top Chef (just desserts) and Georgetown Cupcakes to name a few, I finally took the first step to my long time fantasy of becoming a baker! I even remember watching Heny Sison on her now defunct tv show back when I was in grade school and stayed up late at night to watch her do "the moves". Then I came across a video from the Martha Stewart show, all of a sudden, I got inspired and decided to bake..
They were featuring the baker Jennifer Shea of Trophy Cupcakes in the show.

I had to prep up for the baking lesson, and these tools came in handy:

Pastry Brush
I used it to brush butter onto a pan I used for baking brownies. Though I would not recommend this brand since the bristles fell apart after using twice.

Piping Bag with Cake Decorating tubes

Baking pan - small round cake

Food Coloring

This is how it was supposed to look like:

And this is how it turned out, well, I did not really push through with the frosting anymore..

Tadaaah!
Not bad huh for a first time baker? :D Yum!
