Independence Day - Up Dharma Down style

Yesterday was the Philippines' 115th year of Independence!

Freedom!!

I invited friends to join me for a gig yesterday but unfortunately they backed out, thus, I was left alone. Well, what better way to celebrate my independence than on Independence day.

If it wasn't for Up Dharma Down's mall show at SM Center Las Piñas, I would have remained at home sitting comfortably in my bedroom chair but.it's my local fave band...the show is free, what more could I ask for?

The band was scheduled to perform at around 4pm, I arrived at around 4:15. All seats were already taken, some had passes (lucky bastards). So I had no choice but to stand up but I had no qualms since there were no tall people in front of me.

A few more minutes passed, Carlos Tañada (lead guitarist) (I think I might have seen him in CSA) and Ean Mayor arrived, producing a few enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. They started the sound check. Paul Yap (bassist) followed soon. And Armi Millare (lead singer, keyboardist), came in last, producing the most ecstatic cheers from the crowd.

Due to some minor technical difficulties (as I see it), they started the show past 5. Just like watching any great artist perform, all the wait seems nothing as soon as they begin to perform.

They started the show with the song, "Parks" a nice uplifting and mood relaxing song followed with around 6 songs from a combi of their albums, Indak, Oo, Taya, Sana (adlib: Sana dalawa ang puso ko) ending with a "standing room only" crowd song, Turn it well.

to be continued...
