Etude House Berry AHA! Bright Peel Boosting Serum and Mild Gel Review
I got these sampler goodies from one of my Tita's who got back from Korea. Given the Korean skincare frenzy and the popularity of the brand, this is the first time I am trying Etude House products.
The instructions at the back were all in Korean, so I had to refer to their website.
Etude House Berry AHA! Bright Peel Mild Gel
Based on their website, the Mild Gel variant is a gommage-type (gommage is a French word which means "to erase") peeling mask which makes skin look smooth and clear by gently removing stubborn dead skin cells with plant-derived cellulose.
Their recommended application:
You need to dry your face after cleansing and dispense a certain amount, evenly applying onto your face in a circular motion for 2~3 minutes with fingertips. Afterwards, you need to rinse it thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Caution: 1. Use only as directed.2. Avoid storing in high/low temperatures or in areas exposed to direct sunlight.3. Stop using if it causes any allergic reaction or any problems arising.
Review:
The product has a lightweight watery, clear consistency to it. It had a fruity, "berry" like smell and glided smoothly when I applied it on my face. After a few circular motions, small white solid formations came out (similar to the dead skin formations you have when you rub on your dirty skin).Having an acne prone and sensitive skin, it did not produce any red patches. And when I washed my face to remove any residue, it felt like my skin was able to breathe and had a certain "Korean" glow to it. :D With these in mind, I found the product to be very enjoyable to use because of the fruity smell, lightweight application and glowing after effect and I will definitely use this product again.
Etude House Berry AHA! Bright Peel Boosting Serum
The boosting serum variant on the other hand is their so-called first-step peeling essence for skincare which removes dead skin cells and impurity residue daily.
Their recommended application:
After washing your face, dispense an appropriate amount on a cotton pad and apply on your face in the direction of your skin texture, starting from the inside and working outward in a gentle blotting motion.
Review:
I applied the serum right after rinsing off the Mild Gel variant. I did not use a cotton pad, instead, I used my fingers (thinking that much of the product will be absorbed by the cotton pad and not by my skin). The product had a creamy white consistency and somehow had a sticky feel to it (comparing it to another boosting serum I tried from another brand). It was not as lightweight as I thought I would be but not too burdensome either since I used it as a night cream. It did not produce any redness and was very gentle on my skin. I would probably use this product again if I received it as a sampler.
